Top Dublin hotel launches Supper Club series at their luxurious restaurant

The Conrad hotel in Dublin city centre have launched a premium supper club food series in their destination restaurant The Coburg.

With the first of the series taking place later this month, it aims to bring food lovers together into a communal atmosphere of food appreciation and wine tasting.

The first evening of the series is taking place on Monday July 17 and will be hosted by Sue Hodder, the award winning Chief Winemaker at Wynns Winery, Australia, who has selected the four featured wines that will enhance the culinary evening. The four course tasting menu will be created by Executive Head Chef of The Coburg Marek Sulg.

Guests will be welcomed with a reception serving canape of smoked salmon tartar and Keta caviar served in a savoury cone upon arrival. The first course will be a light bite of crab meat in cucumber cannelloni, dressed with saffron mayo, apple, and coriander cress.

The next course will be pan fried monkfish atop charred leek, olive oil mash, coconut and lemongrass and drizzled with chilli oil. The next course will see diners enjoy a juicy Hereford beef fillet with potato cube, broccoli and onion three ways - burnt onion puree, Roscoff onion, and confit shallot smothered with a tarragon jus.

The final course will see guests enjoy a duo of Irish cheese with crackers and quince jelly, which can be washed down with the specially selected wines for the evening. The two spotlight wines are expected to be The Gables Cabernet Sauvignon and Wynn’s Chardonnay which are both sourced from Wynns Coonawarra Estate in Australia.

Each bottle has been expertly chosen to accompany each course and offers a fully rounded flavour profile from classic cedar and blackberry, to notes of elegant pear and nectarine. The evening is open to anyone to come and dine solo or in groups.

The evening is expected to begin with the reception at 6:30pm and tickets are priced at €79 per person. People are encouraged to book tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
