On Tuesday, the GasBuddy analyst said U.S. gas prices are on track to set a new record for the highest average price ever recorded for August 5, with the national average currently at $4.08 per gallon and expected to surpass even 2022 levels within about “7 days.”

Gas Price Outlook Hinges on De-escalation
Last week, De Haan told Benzinga that U.S. gas prices could rise another 5–15 cents per gallon over the next one to two weeks, with future trends depending on U.S.-Iran tensions.
