Tony Mowbray reveals Blackburn Rovers' big concern ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Nottingham Forest kick off the new year with a home clash against Blackburn Rovers tomorrow.

The Reds returned to the top six after making it two wins from two last time out with a narrow win over Wigan Athletic.

But it's a different story for Wednesday's opponents Blackburn, who have fallen three points off the pace of the playoffs following two draws and a defeat.

Last time out, they lost to strugglers Huddersfield, though they haven't been helped by a number of injuries, none more so than 10-goal star Bradley Dack, who was ruled out for the season with a knee injury.

Rovers must now find a way to replace the goals scored by their leading scorer, something manager Tony Mowbray has his concerns about ahead of Wednesday's trip to the City Ground.

"I think you've just taken goals out of the team," he told LancashireLive.

"The question is where are the goals coming from?

"In my opinion, Bradley Dack would've undoubtedly scored another 10 or 12 goals until the end of the season, and I think Bradley Dack would've scored that little skirmish in the first half in the six yard box.

"He's just got a natural instinct to be where the ball is to score.

"That's the challenge for us now, people have to step up to the mark - whether we decide to play with a ten or with two strikers we'll have to wait and see.

"We had no time to adjust to it other than recovering for one day, after the cup match against Birmingham we'll have more of an idea about the options we've got."
