Tom Rogic post Celtic transfer update as ambitious big money offer turned down

Tom Rogic is still on the hunt for a new club after choosing to leave Celtic, turning down a lucrative Asian move as his next step.

The attacking midfielder was one of boss and countryman Ange Postecoglou's key men on route to the Australian winning his first Premiership title less than 12 months after becoming boss at Parkhead.

Rogic is a player he knows well from his time as Socceroos boss but their time working together domestically has lasted just one season after the 29-year-old's decision to leave.

Turning 30 later this year, he withdrew from Australia's successful World Cup play-off wins over United Arab Emirates and Peru because of personal reasons and cited a new challenge as his reason for leaving Celtic Park.

One did appear in the form ambitious Indonesian outfit Persija Jakarta, who are the champions of that region, managed by former Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg boss Thomas Doll.

A lucrative offer was made to the attacking midfielder but he's now told them that it isn't something he wants to take up, according to reports.

Already Persija Jakarta have signed Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela, who was banned for racist abuse of Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

Rogic won an impressive 16 major honours with Celtic since his transfer from Central Coast Mariners nine years ago, scoring 46 times with 49 assists.
