Tokyo logged 476 new cases of novel coronavirus infections Tuesday, up by 41 from last Tuesday, marking the 10th consecutive day on which the tally exceeded the same day of the previous week.
The seven-day moving average was 494.9 on Tuesday, up 21.9% from 405.9 last week, according to the Tokyo metropolitan government.
The number of seriously ill patients rose to 43 on Tuesday, up by two from Monday.
