The Tokyo metropolitan government announced Wednesday that it has issued written notices to 94 restaurants, asking that they comply with the request to close or shorten their business hours.
The prefectural government was able to issue these requests based on Article 45 of the revised special measures law against new strains of influenza. The law allows the government to impose orders or fines if businesses do not comply.
