Toddler remains in a serious condition in hospital after falling from a car

A two-year-old girl who fell from a car on a busy roundabout in Lancashire remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Police say the toddler fell from a BMW X5 as it drove along a roundabout in Accrington.

The child is then thought to have “possibly” been hit by another unknown vehicle.

She was taken to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital after suffering a head injury.

Lancashire Police say the little girl remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers are appealing for information about the incident, which happened at around 12.40am on Sunday morning (November 10).

They are also keen to speak to the driver of a white Kia, which was in the area at the time.

The BMW X5 carrying the child was travelling on to the A56 from the Whinfield roundabout at the time of the incident.

Lancashire Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or for anyone who saw the luxury SUV to get in touch.

Sergeant Dave Hurst, of Lancashire Police, said yesterday: “We believe there may have been a white vehicle, possibly a Kia, in the area at the time and we are keen to speak to them.”

Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101, quoting incident reference 0058 of November 10.
