Todd Cantwell in Rangers debut six word message as new signing drops St Johnstone hint

Todd Cantwell is gearing up to take to the Ibrox turf for the first time as a Rangers player.

The former Norwich City attacker admits he is ready to begin his career at the Light Blues which will offer him a 'fresh start' from a crossroads he faced in England. The 24-year-old was touted in the early days of his career as a wonderkid and was a key star for hometown team Norwich before falling by the wayside in recent seasons. Cantwell penned a long-term deal, however, with Michael Beale's men this week.

And while the Englishman isn't quite up to full speed, as he self-admitted, Cantwell will be looking to make an instant impact after the hype around his acquisition.

The outspoken youngster, who was displayed his Ibrox move all over his social media, took to Instagram to drop a hint that Saturday's home game against St Johnstone could be a maiden outing in light blue. He simply said: "See you at the Ibrox Saturday."

Cantwell said at his unveiling on his match fitness: "My fitness is good, I have been working hard even without the game time. I will take a little bit to get up to match speed but I am in a good place."
