Todd Cantwell details Michael Beale Rangers chats as he delivers play style insight and Ibrox aims

Todd Cantwell has opened up on his chats with Michael Beale that secured his switch to Rangers as he revealed his role as 'massive' in making the move north.

The Light Blues snapped up the Norwich City midfielder on a long-term contract as the new boss made his first signing since taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Other new faces are expected in the coming days as the transfer window winds down to a close. The 24-year-old believes he is at a 'very important' stage of his career with this a big move.

He has also hailed the 'clarity' given by the boss who made it very clear what he expects from the new man and what he can bring to the table. Playing at the top level in Europe and also challenging for trophies played a big part in his decision to take on a new challenge with Rangers as he gave fans an insight into what they can expect of him as a player. He told the official club website: "He [Beale] was massive for me. Like I said previously, it is really important to have a manager that believes in you but also, that you believe in them.

"Loads of players say that, but it is the truth - you need to be on board with everything really if you want to get the best version of yourself and I feel like this manager can definitely get that out of me and I am really looking forward to starting working with him.

"I think this is a very important stage of my career if I'm being honest and a very important move.

"Speaking to Ross [Wilson] and speaking to the manager, they seem like two very good people as well as being good at their job and what they do. The manager was very clear with me and laid out exactly what it is that they like about me and what it is they want from me.

"For a player, that is all you can ever ask for - clarity. The chance to play in Europe as well and to obviously win things - that is why I am here, to win trophies."

He continued: "I am the type of player that likes to be on the ball. I like to think I can see passes some people can't and I have the ability to unlock a defence.

"I would say I am a good ball carrier but we will have to see and you can gauge that for yourself! But I like to dribble, I like to be excited and I am an attacking player so I like to bring that creative spark and maybe something that other players can't do.

"This is a massive club and there is a massive responsibility when you sign for Rangers to be the player that the fans want to see.

"They want to see a player that works hard and a player that can win them games which is very important and that is something I am hoping I can bring."
