Todd Boehly's 'aggressive' Chelsea transfer style revealed as final Declan Rice decision made

Todd Boehly has been praised for his 'aggressive' style to conducting business as Chelsea have been told what to expect from an LA Dodgers perspective amid Declan Rice hopes fading away.

Since his £4.25billion takeover was confirmed, it's been all hands to the pump for Roman Abramovich's successor, who has had a lot on his plate to deal with internally in SW6. Not only have key players left in the backline but board members galore like Marina Granovskaia, Petr Cech and Bruce Buck stepped down from their roles.

This has all culminated in multiple changes to the club's hierarchy, with Boehly himself acting as Sporting Director as he looks to live up on his promise of £200million plus spent on six signings that manager Thomas Tuchel requires to rebuild. So far, in spite of what look to be overall disappointments in the Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha transfer races, Boehly looks to have secured the signing of Man City winger Raheem Sterling for an initial fee of £45million plus £10m in add-ons.

football.london has reported that that the main part of the medical took place over the weekend in London and this was further backed up when the Three Lions international was spotted in a barber shop in the capital. With that deal all but done, attention now must turn to other areas in need including the defence, attack and midfield. On the latter of all of those aforementioned positions, West Ham's Declan Rice has always been the prime target.

football.london also understands that the Hammers view their 23-year-old star as all but unsellable and an offer of £150m-plus will be the only way for the Irons to even consider a sale of the England midfielder.

CBS's Ben Jacobs had confirmed that West Ham's No. 41 remained the 'long-term' priority for the club but alternative options are being considered, with the likes of Ibrahim Sangare and Adrien Rabiot already both linked to making a Chelsea move this summer.

Other names that have popped up include the likes of Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, RB Leipzig's Amadou Haidara and Sporting Lisbon's Matheus Nunes and most recently Argentinean international Guido Rodriguez.

None of those options have been advanced as of yet by the Chelsea board, who are coming to grips with the idea that Rice will be staying put for at least one more season at the London Stadium.

Could Boehly though somehow revive the possibilities of seeing Mason Mount's good friend join up with the Blues a season earlier than expected? Well, his 'aggressive' approach may be the last hope Chelsea fans have if they are to get their Rice wish granted this summer.

His Chief Executive Stan Kasten has opened up about Boehly and the LA Dodgers in work and his words will certainly be music to the ears of Chelsea fans. "Todd [Boehly] is an incredible sports fan, very passionate about the teams, as is Mark [Walter] about all of the things we do - not just the team, but the stadium, stadium experience, community relations efforts," Kasten said on Sky Sports.

"All three of these different areas were very important to all of them. They have always given us the resources we need to be leaders across the board in all of those programmes. I’m aggressive by nature, but they’ve always encouraged me to be more aggressive. That’s what we’ve experienced here, it’s what makes them the best owners in sports.

"It is one of those rare, premier, global, iconic brands, like the Dodgers, like the Lakers, Chelsea’s right in that same conversation. We are a good group to fit in."
