Today FM calls for buskers to take part in 'The Big Busk' for Focus Ireland

Today FM have put out a call for buskers to take part in 'The Big Busk' for Focus Ireland.

The national radio station will be launching a campaign to raise money for homelessness on Friday March 10 and they are looking for musicians and buskers across the country to take part. They are aiming to raise €250,000 for Focus Ireland.

Irish Rail train stations and shopping centres across the country will play host to performances and Today FM will feature some of them live, as well as interviews exploring the different sides of homelessness on the station. Presenter Pamela Joyce said at the launch: "I’ve even be roped into doing my own busk live on air to the nation so I’m going to need an army of buskers to join me on the day!

"We want buskers of all ages and abilities to gather their guitars and warm up those vocal cords and help us in the fight to end homelessness in Ireland." CEO of Focus Ireland Pat Dennigan said: "Come join us in our efforts and join the fight against homelessness.

"Along with all the music and busking, art has always been a way to communicate messages and emotions, we hope to add that element to The Big Busk 2023. Join us and sign up for your local event, or organise your own, as every effort will help us reach out €250,000 goal."

There are currently over 11,000 people in Ireland struggling with homelessness. Today FM and Focus Ireland are urging the public to donate to Focus Ireland, get involved in one of the organised busks in Dublin or even host your own busk with your friends and family.
