Tobi Oluwayemi joins Celtic as Tottenham academy keeper pens three-year Parkhead deal

Celtic have announced the signing of Tottenham academy star Tobi Oluwayemi on a three-year deal.

Oluwayemi's older brother, Joshua, is also a rising star within the Spurs academy, and the younger sibling's move will be completed subject to international clearance.

Celtic have been keeping a close eye on the English academy scene and landed Armstrong Oko-Flex from Arsenal last summer. The 17-year-old has turned heads and been included in several first team squads.

Oluwayemi has been capped at youth level with England and he'll know about the Hoops due to his international team-mate Karamoko Dembele.

The player himself can't wait to begin his Parkhead adventure.

He said: "I am delighted to be joining Celtic, it really is a dream come true and a massive opportunity for me.

"I know Karamoko very well and he has told me all about Celtic, the size of the club, the great supporters and the club's tradition for giving young players an opportunity.

"I am very excited about this move and I will be working hard, giving everything to the club to progress and make the most of this great opportunity."

Meanwhile, Neil Lennon remained tight-lipped over his spying trip to Wales to run the rule over Partizan Belgrade's Serbian centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic.

He said: "That was an eye opener as well.

"There was an Irishman in the middle of it.

"He must have got lost!

"We were looking at a player. I’m just doing my job.

"I’m not going to divulge who it was obviously.

"A lot would fall into place if we do qualify but I’m uneasy talking about qualification as we are still so far off it.

"We’re making good inroads at the minute but it's been a very good start."
