An episode of the comedy series Workaholics in which Chris D’Elia plays a “cool paedophile” has been removed from streaming services in the US.
The decision comes after the comedian denied accusations of sexual misconduct last week.
D’Elia, who starred in season two of YOUon Netflix, was accused of inappropriate conduct, including with underage girls. In a statement provided to TMZ, the 40-year-old said: “I know I have said and done things that might have offended people during my career, but I have never knowingly pursued any underage women at any point.
“All of my relationships have been both legal and consensual and I have never met or exchanged any inappropriate photos with the people who have tweeted about me.”
US streaming services including Amazon Prime and Hulu have removed the Workaholics episode, entitled ”To Friend a Predator”, from their catalogues.
The episode’s description on Amazon UK reads: “When the guys try ‘To Catch a Predator’, a local child molester, he turns out to be the coolest guy they ever met.”
The decision was confirmed to Variety by Comedy Central, who produced and first broadcast the episode. D’Elia’s stand-up special White Male. Black Comic is also no longer available to stream through Comedy Central.
“To Friend a Predator” is still currently available to stream in the UK on Amazon Prime Video.
Workaholics ran for seven seasons on Comedy Central from 2011 to 2017. The episode which featured D’Elia as a guest star was included as part of the show’s first season.
