The Tennessee Titans began the 2019 season about as dismally as anyone could have ever predicted with a 2-4 start.
The team as a whole saw a major turnaround when Ryan Tannehill was named the starting quarterback over Marcus Mariota in Week 7. Tennessee didn’t look back from that point on, making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game, where they fell 35-24 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
But it took far more than just Tannehill’s play for the Titans to see the type of improvement they did, with a number of players individually upping their game.
Offensive lineman Nate Davis was among those.
According to Pro Football Focus, Davis increased his overall grade drastically from Week 15 on.
From weeks 1-14, Davis graded out at an alarmingly low 30.1. But from Week 15 through the postseason, that number shot up all the way to 71.5.
That’s quite the difference.
The Titans have the pieces they need at quarterback with Tannehill and at running back with Derrick Henry on the offense, as well as a rising star in the passing game in wide receiver A.J. Brown.
But any great offense must first start with a rock-solid offensive line, so the Titans will hope for continued success from players like Davis when football starts up again later this year.
