Titans’ Mike Vrabel talks Treylon Burks’ asthma, Tuesday absence from OTAs

Tennessee Titans wide receivers coach Rob Moore revealed on Tuesday that first-round pick Treylon Burks has asthma, which would explain his use of an inhaler and his inability to stay on the practice field for some sessions.

“That’s unfortunate. Some of those things that happen were kind of out of his control,” Moore said, via ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “The kid’s got asthma.

After practice, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said the team was aware of Burks’ medical issue before drafting him and is “very confident” the rookie will be fine.

Burks was absent from practice on Tuesday, but Vrabel wouldn’t say if it was related to his asthma and only noted the rookie was “unavailable.”

Tuesday was the final open session of organized team activities. Tennessee will have two more closed sessions the next two days and will then turn its attention to mandatory minicamp after that, which runs from June 14-16.
