Tirumala plans steep hike in Arjitha seva ticket prices

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is considering a steep raise in the discretionary quota-linked Arjitha seva ticket prices at the Tirumala temple. The new rates are likely to come into effect in the next few days.

The decision to raise prices of Arjitha seva tickets was taken at the TTD trust board meeting held in Tirumala on February 17. All sevas, including Arjitha seva, are being held in “ekantham” (isolation) without the participation of devotees, since the outbreak of the pandemic.

With the third wave on the ebb, the temple body is now planning to revive Arjitha sevas at the temple.

As per proposals, the price of the most sought-after Vastralankara seva ticket is proposed to be doubled — from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The price of Suprabatham ticket, which now costs Rs 240, is proposed to be raised to Rs 2,000. Similarly, Thomala seva and Archana ticket prices are proposed to be raised from the current rate of Rs 440 to Rs 5,000, while Kalyanotsavam ticket price would be raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500. The price of Vedasirvachanam has been proposed to be raised from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000.
