MUMBAI: Solid performances by allrounder Khizar Dafedar (five for 24) and Pranav Kela (110, 182b, 11x4) helped their teams gain the all-important first innings lead on Day Two of the Times Shield 'A' Division third round league matches on Wednesday.
At the Indian Airlines ground in Kalina, Siddhesh Lad, resuming on 97, scored 106 (99b, 12×4, 4×6) to help Indian Oil amass 537. Left-arm spinner Dafedar, whose figures read 10-2-24-5, then spun out Air India for 187.
The 24-year-old Dafedar has played for Mumbai at all age group levels, but has featured in just one T20 for the senior team. At SRT-1 in Kandivali, Kela's century helped BPCL reply strongly with 386 for seven in response to Mumbai Customs' 177.
