Tiger Woods in emotional embrace with children after securing The Masters 2019 win

There were emotional scenes at the back of the 18th green after Tiger Woods won the 2019 Masters.

Woods was, quite possibly, more animated than he has ever been after wrapping up his 15th major championship, his first since his US Open success in 2008.

Former coach Butch Harmon said he’d never seen Woods release such an outpouring of emotion as Woods punched the air and celebrated with caddie Joe LaCava.

He then went to the back of the green and hugged his two children Sam Alexis (11) and Charlie Axel (10), whilst also embracing his mother, Kultida.

This victory is all the more special for Woods because his children are too young to have seen their father in his pomp over a decade ago.

Woods’ former wife Elin Nordegren is the mother of both children.

The golfing great and Swedish model divorced in 2010 when their marriage fell apart after she learned he had been unfaithful.

It was later reported that Woods slept with 120 women whilst married to Nordegren and he was later forced to apologise for his infidelity and attended a rehab clinic for sex addiction.

Nordegren received $100 million as the pair finalised their divorce but share custody of the children.
