Tiger King: Michael Jackson's alligators 'were killed in Joe Exotic's studio fire'

John Finlay has spoken about his time at Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park with Joe Exotic, in a new interview.

The Tiger King star also revealed that the alligators which were killed in an arson attack in 2015 belonged to late pop legend, Michael Jackson.

Findlay was 'married' to Joe Exotic at the time of filming of Netflix documentary 'Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madnes'.

A couple of years later though, life is much different for Finlay, who has nothing more to do with Exotic, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his part in a murder-for-hire plot.

Now living with his wife in Oklahoma, Finlay opened up to David Spade in an interview for 'Lights Out'.

During the chat he revealed how they had Jackson's exotic pets, and how they were among his more beloved animals at the zoo.

Finlay said: "My favourite animals were the alligators and crocodiles. A previous manager had gotten Michael Jackson’s alligators from Neverland ranch.

"We’d got some other ones from friends and stuff. They were the ones I really took care of most of the time."

Speaking about the dangers of handling crocs and alligators, Finlay said that is something you have to approach with caution.

He told David: "You’ve got to be very cautious as they have a lot more to worry about than, say, a tiger or a bear.

"Their tail comes round half their body and it packs a wallop."

Unfortunately, there was a sticky end for pop star's animals as they were killed after fire destroyed their habitat at the animal park.

An arson fire razed it to the ground along with Exotic's film studio, killing the alligators in the process.

Finlay also cleared up the nature of his relationship with Exotic and where he stood as one of his 'husbands'.

He said: "Just to clear the record, me and Joe were never legally married, ever."

Finlay also cleared up why he appeared in the documentary with his shirt off while speaking to the camera.

He revealed: "It was the director’s idea. It was kind of the sex appeal type thing.”
