Tia Mowry says boundaries bring 'peace' following Cory Hardrict divorce

Tia Mowry has learnt more about boundaries following her divorce from Cory Hardrict.

The 47-year-old actress will think about how confident and “secure” she feels, while keeping boundaries around anything she is figuring out, before discussing subjects, such as actor Cory, 46, whom she split from in October 2022 after 14 years of marriage, with their divorce finalised in April 2023.

Tia told People: "If I am feeling secure about something, then I'm OK sharing, because everybody wants to say what they want to say. When you are secure with yourself, then you're like, 'This is just noise.'

"If you're not secure about something and you're still working through something, then I will be apprehensive about sharing that, and I'll create a boundary until I'm ready to.

"So yeah, it's all about what I feel secure about, and also just [what I'm] passionate about, that I'm open to talk about."

Keeping boundaries brings "peace" to Tia - who continues to co-parent son Cree, 14, and daughter Cairo, seven, with American Sniper star Cory.

The Sister, Sister alum explained: "So, if staying away from this, talking about this gives me just peace of mind, then I'm going to create a boundary, you know what I mean?"

In March, Tia revealed she had found love, three years after her marriage to Cory ended, citing "irreconcilable differences".

Keeping tight-lipped about her mystery man, Tia told The Shade Room: "I’m in love. But that’s all I’m going to say. I’m keeping this close to my heart.

"I’m very grateful. I’m happy."

In June 2025, the Twitches star shared how travel helped her to heal after her divorce from Cory.

During a fan Q+A on her Instagram Stories, how to recover from a divorce, Tia penned: "I think I’d say: dive into doing the work.

"Really, truly focus on self-care. Focus on what makes you happy and what brings you joy.

"Build a tribe, a community of friends, a support system. Meditate. Try new hobbies. Read books on healing. Spend time with your kids if you have them, or just surround yourself with people who genuinely love and support you.

"Do things that feel fun and fulfilling. Travel, if you can. Travelling really helped me. It’s all about creating new experiences. The more experiences you have, the further away you get from that heavy, gut-wrenching feeling of divorce."
