Thug admits attacking a police officer at Motherwell station

A man has admitted assaulting two police officers in Motherwell.

Colin McPherson tried to head-butt one officer at an address in Mason Street on August 7 last year.

McPherson, of no fixed address, then struggled with the officer before shouting and swearing at him and kicking him on the body.

The 38-year-old also attacked an officer within Motherwell Police Station on the same date.

During this incident, McPherson began shouting and swearing, struggling with him, atriking him on the body and kicking him on the body.

McPherson committed both offences while he was released on bail.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court this week, McPherson was cleared of shouting, swearing and making offensive remarks as well as being in possession of an open Buckfast bottle.

Sheriff Linda Nicolson deferred sentence on the accused until April 17 for reports.
