Thrill seeker seen crawling with child at the edge of notorious 500ft cliff drop

A man cannot resist peering over a crumbling 500ft cliff despite carrying a child under his arm.

Another visitor also took up a position worryingly close to the edge, sitting down appearing to take a photo of the view with his phone.

The Seven Sisters cliffs near Eastbourne, East Sussex, were a magnet for visitors yesterday. But they are gradually being eroded by the sea.

The National Trust says of the beauty spot: “It can be extremely dangerous to stand near the cliff edge and we advise visitors to act sensibly. We have warning signs in place.”

Maybe the heat had done to their head as the Mirror reported that the UK experienced its hottest Easter Monday ever, as the Met Office confirmed a sizzling high of 25C.

All four home nations enjoyed their warmest Easter Mondays since records began in 1910 - with England highest at 25C in  Northolt, Heathrow and Wisley.

Thousands made the most of the glorious sunshine by firing up the barbecues and hitting the beach.

The next few days could see the mercury plunge, bringing much cooler and more unsettled weather .

By the weekend temperatures will have dropped to the seasonal average of around 13C.

Met Office meteorologist Emma Smith said: "People are really going to notice the difference.

"We will see lots of thundery showers and in just a few days we will lose over 10C.
