T1’s star ADC Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung has officially parted ways with the Korean powerhouse in news that caught the League of Legends community offguard. Gumayusi has been part of the organization since joining T1 as a trainee back in December 2018.
“The trophies we lifted together and the legacy he built will always be a proud part of our history and in the hearts of our fans,” said T1 in their X post, talking about the departure. “We are deeply grateful for his dedication, sacrifice, and incredible performances throughout his years with us.”

Gumayusi has been an integral part of T1’s modern dynasty, playing a key role in the team’s unprecedented three-peat, which included three consecutive World Championship titles and multiple domestic trophies. His recent peak came in Chengdu at Worlds 2025, where he delivered one of the greatest bot-lane performances in tournament history, earning Finals MVP after T1’s victory over KT Rolster.
Alongside support Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, Gumayusi formed one of League’s most iconic bot-lane duos, which is defined by explosive laning and unmatched synergy on the world stage.
For Gumayusi, 2025 was all about redemption after getting benched abruptly in the LCK split and getting replaced by the promising rookie Shin “Smash” Geum-jae. Later, T1’s CEO stepped in during the spring split to bring Gumayusi and the team didn’t look back.
After Zeus left the Worlds-winning squad earlier in the year and Doran filled in that gap, the team maintained their international run at the biggest tournament, but it seems the AD carry is chasing another challenge after admitting at the Worlds 2025 stage that he proved to himself that he is the best AD carry in the world.
Gumayusi’s flawless stint with T1
Gumayusi’s seven years with T1 were filled with achievements. Some of the highlights are listed below:
- Three-time World Champion (2023–2025), becoming one of the few ADCs in history to lift three Worlds trophies and a key figure in T1’s dominating run.
- Worlds 2025 Finals MVP, delivering a career-defining performance in Chengdu to secure T1’s third consecutive world title.
- Formed a legendary bot-lane partnership with Keria, widely regarded as one of the most dominant duos in League history.
- Multiple LCK titles, the Esports World Cup 2024 trophy and numerous runner-up finishes as consistently performing as one of the strongest AD carries.
- Part of T1’s one of the longest undefeated series of matches in LCK.
- Defining seven-year legacy, evolving from a promising rookie to one of the greatest ADCs ever to wear the T1 jersey and shaping the team’s identity through an era of sustained success.
According to Esports Charts, T1 Gumayusi has earned $601,721 in League esports.
What next for Gumayusi?

While Gumayusi’s next destination remains uncertain, he could also make his way to any LPL teams for the 2026 season to start a fresh page and make his legacy outside T1.
As T1 prepares for 2026, the settled unit will have a big task on its hands to fill up the roster’s one of the most important roles in the AD carry to pair them with Keria.
The organization could promote Smash to the starting roster again or take a different direction with a more established and experienced AD carry to bring in the squad.
