Three people treated at scene of Northumberland tractor crash

Three people were treated at the scene of a crash involving a tractor in Northumberland.

Emergency services responded to calls of an accident involving an overturned car on the A697 between New Moor Crossroads and Whittingham at around 11.20am on Saturday .

North East Ambulance Service arrived at 11.21am at the scene and Northumbria police arrived a short time later while the road was closed.

An ambulance crew treated three people who were all discharged at the scene, and NEAS confirmed that no patients were taken to hospital.

The road was closed for more than four hours for the clean-up operation and at the time of publication remained shut.

A spokeswoman for the NEAS said: "We were called at 11:21 this morning to reports of a 3 vehicle RTC involving a tractor.

"We sent 1 ambulance and treated and discharged 3 patients on scene. No persons were taken to hospital."
