Three people police want to speak to after man found unconscious in the street

Police have released three CCTV images of people they wish to speak to after a man was found unconscious in the street.

Merseyside Police were called to Fulton Street in Vauxhall at around 10.30pm on Saturday, May 27 following reports of a man being found unconscious in the street. It's understood the man, who is in his 50s was attacked at the scene.

He was taken to hospital by emergency services, where he remains in a critical condition.

Detectives have arrested two people, a 15-year-boy and a 22-year-old man, on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. Both suspects have been released on conditional bail.

Detective chief inspector Tony Roberts said: “Although we have made two arrests, our investigation into this incident continues. We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

"If you were in the area at this time and witnessed the assault take place, then please get in touch. I am also appealing for the man and two women featured in the CCTV images to please contact us as we believe they have seen the assault and could help us with vital information to our continuing enquiries.

"I also ask any motorists who were in the area to please check your dashcam footage in case you have captured something which will assist in the investigation. Every piece of information or footage could be vital in establishing what happened."
