Three more people have died from coronavirus at Royal Bolton Hospital

Three more people have died from coronavirus at Royal Bolton Hospital, it has been revealed.

New figures released today have brought the total number of deaths at the hospital to 198. Yesterday, it was reported that 195 people had died at the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.

Across the region, another 12 people have died at Greater Manchester's hospitals. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the region is now at least 1,653 - although the true number is thought to be much higher.

In the last 24 hours, another four deaths were recorded at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, while a further two deaths were recorded at Stockport.

Trusts in Salford, Tameside and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh all recorded one death each.

The Pennine Acute Trust, which oversees hospitals in North Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury, didn't record any deaths in the last 24 hours.
