Three men in court after farmer rammed with car and attacked with spade

Three men have today appeared in court after a farmer was run over and attacked with weapons.

Two of the men were charged with attempted murder after Brian Rawlings was attacked with a sickle and a spade.

He was also allegedly rammed with a blue Citroen Picasso on Ox Lane, Tarbock Green during the incident on Sunday, July 26.

Anthony Graham, 52, is charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, namely a garden spade, and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

Paul Dunn, 32, of Andover Way, is charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, assault of an emergency worker and possession of a knife or sharp pointed article.

Nathan Buckley, 19, of East Dam Wood Road, is charged with section 18 wounding with intent and possession of cannabis.

The men appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court today (July 27) before District Judge Wendy Lloyd.

All three were remanded in custody and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on August 24.
