Three man arrested over a suspected murder bid on Patsy Hutch senior have been released without charge.
Two further men, who were arrested yesterday in connection with the same investigation, remain in garda custody.
The men are suspected members of a Kinahan hit team.
Patsy Hutch Senior is target number one in Dublin for the Kinahan organised crime gang.
Sources said that it is not a current strike but in fact is associated with the murder campaign to target Patsy Hutch Senior.
The insider explained: "Patsy Hutch Senior is one of the most targeted of the Hutch clan - attempts have been made on his life repeatedly.
"He has survived each of the incidents and now lives in a bullet proof house and very rarely ventures outside.
"These three arrests of three men are directly linked to the Kinahan operation to kill him - they were all allegedly involved in the conspiracy."
The garda operation has stopped more than 50 separate attempts on the lives of Hutch relatives and their associates in the feud that has claimed at least 18 lives.

A garda spokesman said: "Three men arrested on Wednesday 27th March 2019, as part of ongoing investigations into serious feud related organised crime activity in the Dublin Region, have been released without charge.
"The three men aged between 24 and 38 were arrested in the North Inner city and Finglas areas of Dublin. A file is to be prepared for the DPP.
"The two men (20's and 30's) , arrested yesterday 28th March, remain in custody under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Dublin Garda stations."
