Three men arrested for 'conspiring to cause a public nuisance' after all-night rave

Three men have been arrested and are being held in police custody for their part in organising a rave that caused widespread disruption between Bath and Bristol.

The all-night party was attended by thousands of young people from all over the country, who flocked to the former Charmy Down airfield near Bath on Saturday, July 18.

The rave went on all night and long into the Sunday, and police faced criticism from tired and angry locals for not stepping in to stop it.

At the time, police chiefs said they would "have the last laugh" as they were investigating those behind the rave, and now a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police confirmed arrests have been made.

Three people were detained today (August 5). Police said they are aged 22, 23 and 26, and all had been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause a public nuisance.

"The investigation into the event, which caused widespread disruption overnight Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 July, continues," said a police spokesperson.

"Anyone with information which could help these enquiries can get in touch with officers by calling 101 quoting reference 5220160383," she added.
