Three men were arrested after a 'stand off' with armed police in a Liverpool street.
Specialist firearms officers were deployed to The Beechwalk in the Stoneycroft area of the city this afternoon. Police arrived at the scene just off Queens Drive at around 4.35pm.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed three men were arrested. Officers began a search of a house on The Beechwalk after the men were arrested.

Armed police appeared to be communicating with people in the house. At one point there were raised voices and then a senior firearms officer called for a van to be driven down to the house.
A man was then handcuffed and led out by armed police. A group of locals called out to the man as he was sat in the back of the van. One of the women shouted "I will phone your mum."
A neighbour told the ECHO that he took his children out this afternoon but was unable to return to his house because of the armed incident. After 9pm armed police appeared to wind down their operation. Officers were seen taking off their body armour and climbing into SUVs.
Groups of neighbours congregated outside their homes. Most people appeared to be confused by the drama on their doorsteps.
A police spokesperson said: "At around 4.35pm armed officers attended at an address on The Beechwalk, off Queen’s drive. Three men have currently been detained by police. Searching of the premises is still ongoing. We would like to reassure the public that there is no wider threat to the community."
