Three Liverpool city centre stores close suddenly for 'safety of community'

Three city centre stores have closed suddenly for an unknown amount of time.

Liverpool ONE’s Urban Outfitters, Apple and Hollister Co. are currently closed.

Urban Outfitters on Paradise Street now has signs in its windows to announce the temporary closure.

The signs read: "For the safety and precaution of the community, all Urban Outfitters stores will be closed until further notice.

"We look forward to coming together soon, and we're still open at urbanoutfitters.com."

The U.S-based company issued the same statement online to its fans, adding: "We're proud to call ourselves a part of your local community, and our goal has always been to provide you with safe spaces to come together, laugh and be inspired.

"While we work through these changes, know that we're here to answer questions, keep you entertained, and to continue to engage with our UO Community however we can. Take care of yourselves."

The closure comes after several other US companies made the decision to temporarily close their doors due to the coronavirus outbreak, though they did not extend closures to the UK.

Apple and Hollister Co, also in Liverpool ONE, have also closed their doors for the foreseeable future, with both websites listing the stores as closed everyday for at least the next week.
