Three in court after Cessnock police raids

Three people charged after a series of early morning police raids in the Coalfields remain behind bars, with court documents showing the trio were each on bail for other alleged offences when the were arrested this week.

Police executed search searches at Cessnock on Thursday, where investigators allegedly found a shortened rifle, prohibited drugs, mobile phones, ammunition and $8000 cash.

Tyronne Alby Anderson, 34, was arrested at the first Cessnock property, where officers allegedly found prohibited drugs, cash and phones.

He was charged with one count of supplying a prohibited drug greater than the indictable quantity.

Mr Anderson, who was on bail for a previous count of domestic violence-related common assault and stalking/intimidation, was refused bail in Cessnock Local Court on Friday.

A second home was raided simultaneously to the first nearby, where police allegedly found prohibited drugs, a firearm, ammunition and an electronic control device.

They then stopped a vehicle a short time later on Alexander Street at Cessnock, where a search of the car allegedly uncovered prohibited drugs, a knife and cash.

Eddie Henderson, 26, was arrested and charged with three counts of supplying a prohibited drug greater than the indictable amount and one count each of dealing with property that is the proceeds of crime valued at less than $100,000, possessing a shortened firearm, having a knife in public, possessing ammunition without a licence, possessing a prohibited plant and possessing a prohibited drug.

Mr Henderson was on bail for previous drug, driving and weapons possession charges. He did not apply for bail in court on Friday.

Soon after the vehicle search, police raided another Cessnock home where they seized a phone, cash and cannabis.

They then searched a fourth property where they allegedly found cash, prohibited drugs and capsicum spray.

Autumn Patricia Swann, 27, was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and one count of supplying a prohibited drug less than the indictable amount.

She was previously on bail for alleged break and enter and theft - she was refused bail in court on Friday.
