Bristol Bears have suffered a triple injury blow ahead of this weekend's West Country derby with Bath Rugby.
Pat Lam's side will travel to The Recreation Ground without three men who all likely would have been involved in the key game had they been fit.
The Bristol director of rugby confirmed after his side's 13-10 victory over Worcester Warriors on Sunday that winger Purdy, who has impressed so much since joining the club from Championship side Coventry as injury cover that he has earned himself a two-year deal at the club, had felt a slight hamstring strain and indeed he misses the 12-mile trip to The Rec.
He is replaced by Alapati Leiua who came on in his place at the weekend and in fact is perhaps better suited to a game on a heavier pitch.

However today the club confirmed two significant blows in the forward pack with summer signing Dave Attwood picking up a shoulder injury which rules him out for a return against his former side and prop John Afoa has suffered a calf injury.
Both men featured in the win against the Warriors last weekend with lock Attwood starting and Afoa coming off the bench.
Former England international Attwood has been replaced in the side by Ed Holmes while former All Black Afoa has been replaced by Max Lahiff who starts on the bench against his former employers.
Lewis Thiede starts at tighthead for the second week running having scored his first try for the club off the bench in the victory over Northampton Saints in Round 11.
The good news for the Bears is flanker Steven Luatua has overcome the blow to the neck which kept him out against Worcester and returns to the side to skipper Bristol in the derby.
Here is the official Bristol Bears injury list.
Harry Thacker (neck), Jordan Lay (knee), James Lay (leg), John Afoa (calf), Aly Muldowney (head), Dave Attwood (shoulder), Siale Piutau (knee), Luke Daniels (shoulder), Will Hurrell (head), Charlie Powell (ankle), Henry Purdy (hamstring).
