Thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles recalled over crash risk

  • Harley-Davidson has recalled nearly 17,000 motorcycles from its 2025 and 2026 Softail models (FLHC, FXBB, FXLRS, and FXLRST) due to potential rear brake failure.
  • The issue stems from the rear brake line possibly contacting the Body Control Module, which could create a hole, cause a fluid leak and result in a loss of rear brakes.
  • Harley-Davidson will inspect and repair affected motorcycles free of charge, with owners expected to receive notification letters by May 18.
  • Separately, Ford has recalled approximately 1.4 million F-150 pickup trucks from model years 2015 to 2017.
  • This Ford recall addresses a gearshift problem where a signal loss can cause the transmission to unexpectedly downshift into second gear, increasing the risk of a crash.
