Thomas Tuchel could raid Chelsea for three transfers after Bayern Munich announcement

Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is back in work having replaced Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich.

Nagelsmann was sacked on Friday with Tuchel, who left Chelsea in September after being sacked by Todd Boehly, swiftly replacing his compatriot. Bayern won the Bundesliga under Nagelsmann last season and are only one point off top spot in the table and into the quarter-finals of the Champions League but that was not enough for the club's decision makers in the hierarchy.

With Tuchel out of work and thus a free agent, Bayern have swooped to bring the former Paris Saint-Germain coach into the club's Sabener Strasse headquarters. Tuchel begins work on Monday and is contracted to Bayern until the end of the 2024/25 season and full concentration will be on a successful ending to the season.

However, there will be a busy transfer window for Tuchel as he looks to put his stamp on his new club's squad come the summer. Chelsea will be looking to move some players on after a £600 million splurge on players in the past two summer transfer windows.

In order to balance the books and make sure the squad is not too bloated, Boehly and his team will be earmarking those who are in line for a Stamford Bridge departure. Indeed, Tuchel could look to take advantage of a potential clearout by moving for players heading for the exit at Chelsea.

The 49 year-old could end Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's Chelsea nightmare by signing the Gabon international for a second time having brought him to west London in September. However, Aubameyang cannot get a game under Tuchel's replacement Graham Potter and has managed just 123 minutes of Premier League action since the turn of the year.

Meanwhile, Tuchel may look to bring in Christian Pulisic, too, with the American scoring 19 goals and registering 22 assists during the German's time at Chelsea. Pulisic is expected to depart Chelsea having seen competition for places drastically increase following the arrivals of Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Having come through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic knows the Bundesliga well and could flourish there once again. Another potential Tuchel target is Mason Mount, with the 24 year-old's future also uncertain.

Mount has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool amid a contract stand-off and Chelsea could look to cash-in come the summer.
