Thomas Tuchel confirms Neymar wants to leave PSG as Barcelona eye transfer return

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Neymar wants to leave the club.

The Brazilian was late to return to pre-season training as he headed back to his homeland for a sponsorship event.

He joined up with his teammates this week and was reported to have told Tuchel of his desire to return to Barcelona .

PSG were in action against Dresden on Tuesday night as they put six past their opponents without their talisman Neymar.

And after the clash, Tuchel confirmed Neymar wanted to walk away from Paris, two years after his world-record arrival.

Asked if he knew Neymar wanted to leave, Tuchel said: "Yes, we knew that.

"I don't know what will happen now as it is between the club and Neymar. I am calm and do not interfere, it is not my subject.

"I am the coach and he is my player so I was disappointed with his absence last week, that is clear.

"If he is in the changing room, he is my player and I will work with him.

"But I am ready for everything and we have to be flexible."

Neymar has his heart set on a return to Barcelona and would be willing to take a pay cut to secure the move.

Reports suggested Barca had offered Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele to the French champions in a bid to sign Neymar.

His hopes of a return to the Nou Camp were dented last week when Barca finalised the £107m signing of Antoine Griezmann.
