Airdrie winger Thomas Robert is reportedly being tracked by Hearts.
The 20-year-old Frenchman is the son of former Newcastle star Laurent, and has been impressing for the League One side this season.
His displays for Ian Murray’s team have been attracting interest from bigger fish, and the Scottish Sun reports that the Tynecastle club are among a number of interested parties.
The wide man knocked back the offer of a new deal at Montpellier in the summer in order to play regular first team football elsewhere, and eyebrows were raised when he made the shock move to Scotland’s third tier.
However, it seems the move has paid off with Robert doing well for the Diamonds as they chase promotion to the Championship.
Robbie Neilson is thought to be just one of several managers monitoring the Frenchman’s progress, with Celtic having scouted him, whilst Rangers and Hibs are also thought to be keeping an eye on the situation, along with a number of clubs in England.
Neilson admitted yesterday that one or two could be heading out of Tynecastle when the window opens in a few weeks’ time, and top of his list are a wide player and a striker, which means Robert could be the type of player he’s after.
He wants more competition in the wide areas after Josh Ginnelly, Elliott Frear and Jordan Roberts have all be out recently with injuries.
The former pair both made goalscoring returns to action this weekend though, coming off the bench to score Hearts’ last two goals in their 6-1 Championship demolition of Queen of the South on Saturday.
