Thomas Morstead gets drug-tested after sharing workout video

It’s a tough life, to be the punter for the New Orleans Saints. That’s what longtime punter Thomas Morstead has discovered; he punted the ball away just 43 times last season, a career-low. So when he’s not napping after a quiet day in the office, Morstead has chosen to get absolutely ripped. He might be the most-fit punter in the NFL.

But this comes with a cost. Morstead shared a recent video of the 33-year old, 6-foot-4, 225 pound punter completing a series of gymnast’s pull-ups to promote his partnership with the New Orleans-based Main Squeeze Juice Co. (see it below), which was great. But then he received a letter from the NFL for a randomly-scheduled test for performance-enhancing drugs. Surely it’s a coincidence.

Morstead’s intense workouts are nothing new. Whether he’s lifting his toddlers like dumbells or doing sit-ups for charity, he’s committed to staying active and refining his physique. It’s just hilarious that he’s doing all this as a punter, not a linebacker or tight end. Maybe the Saints could ask him how he feels about some positional versatility?
