Imagine being stuck at LAX with a flight that’s been delayed so many times it’s practically a hostage situation. One Texas traveler lived through it and thought she’d already hit her breaking point—until the airport rolled out a jazz band.
Like a fever dream, she films the impromptu gate-side concert, the final unhinged flourish in an already chaotic day. Her overlay reads, “When you’re about to crash out bc your flight keeps getting cancelled then LAX brings this,” and it’s hard not to laugh. After all, nothing screams “disaster” quite like LAX trying to soothe stranded passengers with a trumpet solo instead of an on-time departure.
LAX’s Gate from Hell
LAX’s reputation might be notorious but Stephanie (@stephanierosales95) added a new straw on the camel’s back. Her seven-second clip already has 230,000 views and steadily climbing. Her caption simply states “LAX is always a headache” and her video proves it in its own right. The short clip shows four men at the airport gate performing a song. The frontman is singing heartily while the rest of the band are on the drums, trombone, and saxophone.
Why is LAX So Bad?
LAX is almost always under fire for one thing or another. Just three months ago, someone posted on the subreddit r/airport asking: “LAX- Why do people hate it?” and got over a hundred replies. One of the top comments said:
- “It’s a traffic nightmare.
- Parking is inconvenient and expensive.
- Dropping off or picking up passengers can be extremely difficult, particularly at the Tom Bradley international terminal.
- The traffic to and from the airport can be nightmarish, depending on the day of the week and the time of the day. Coming from the valley at rush hour can easily take longer than intra-California flights.
- (And this is for everyone), the terminals arrangement can mean lots and lots of walking if you need to transfer to another airline.”
What made the situation even worse was the ongoing government shutdown. LAX was cited as having 19 flights completely canceled and over 150 delayed due to the air traffic controller shortages. This was most likely the culprit delaying Stephanie’s flight.

And the Viewers…Laugh?
Stephanie’s comments are close to reaching 500, and the jokes keep piling up. One viewer says, “It’s giving titanic.” While another says, “Just grab a drink and boogie.”
Others are supporting Stephanie’s complaint about crashing out. One viewer shares, “They’re good but this would PMO so bad.” Another one says, “Knowing how overstimulated LAX makes me, this might have just sent me over the top.”
Some viewers are simply noting that this is another flaw of the chaotic airport. One viewer adds, “LAX is already a nightmare itself.” Another writes, “LA is so unreal.”
Lastly, one viewer shares, “Lord have mercy. LAX is bad even on a good day with no delays… this would push me right over the edge.”
