This Morning viewers baffled as 'expert' teaches them how to use a public toilet

This Morning is known for featuring some bizarre tutorials in its time, but its most recent effort really confused its viewers.

Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield spoke to hygiene doctor Lisa Ackerley who taught them how to use a public toilet.

The segment was supposed to be a useful how to as the country prepares for the post-lockdown world but it was branded 'pointless' by baffled viewers.

Appearing live from a loo in East Devon, Dr Lisa was filmed washing her hands and urged viewers to show "common sense".

She explained: "Common sense is really important so what I would say is always make sure you're prepared.

"Look to make sure if the toilets are actually open."

Dr Lisa brought her own hand sanitiser, a face covering, wipes and her own tissues.

She advised people to sanitise when they go both in and out of the toilets.

The doctor said you should be "absolutely fine" to use public toilets if you stay hygenic.

While many found it informative, the segment left most This Morning viewers baffled.

One tweeted: "Right did anybody learn anything new here? Do we all know how to use a public toilet now?!"

"That was pointless," another posted.

A third wrote: "How cringeworthy ... #ThisMorning holding our hands and guiding us into how to use a public toilet safely .. whatever happened to plain old common sense."

"Can you imagine having a role in life and it’s a public toilet expert," another agreed.
