This Morning's Josie Gibson appearing in hit ITV series with Strictly star and Love Islander

Much to the excitement of viewers at home, Bristolian TV presenter and former Big Brother star Josie Gibson is presenting This Morning for most of this week alongside Vernon Kay. The dynamic duo began their presenting sprint yesterday, April 11 and will wrap up for the week on Thursday, April 14 ahead of Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary returning to our screens on Good Friday.

And as if things couldn't get any more exciting, it was during the launch of yesterday's instalment of This Morning that Josie's next career move was announced by her co-presenter, Vernon. As the show kicked off at its usual time of 10am, the former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star said: "We've got some exclusive news, Josie is about to star in a big ITV show.

"Spill the beans! Well no, don't do that, but tell us what it is because beans are involved!"

Josie, who is from Westerleigh, then revealed her big news. She told viewers: "Well, I have signed up for Cooking With The Stars and I cannot tell you how difficult it is! I did not realise how bad my memory is!"

Hosted by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, the second season of Cooking with the Stars will see eight celebrities paired with a professional chef who will mentor, teach and take them from passionate amateurs to restaurant level chefs. Yesterday, ITV revealed the line up for this year's season, and it looks like Josie will be in good company, as she will be competing with the following stars:

  • Strictly Come Dancing's Anton Du Beke (partnered with Rosemary Shrager)
  • Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes (partnered with Ronnie Murray)
  • Chaser Anne Hegerty (partnered with Jean-Christophe Novelli)
  • Love Island's Maura Higgins (partnered with Jack Stein)
  • TV expert Dr Ranj Singh (partnered with Clodagh McKenna)
  • DJ Woody Cook (partnered with Mike Reid)
  • Comedian Joe Wilkinson (partnered with Judy Joo)

Meanwhile, Josie will be mentored and taught by Scottish chef and restaurateur Tony Singh MBE. Ahead of the new season, which does not have a release date as of yet, presenter Tom Allen said: "Last series was so exciting!

"Emma Willis and I have been polishing our frying pans in preparation – we have so much fun working together. The celebrities are being trained by some of the best chefs in the business and with the clock ticking it’s always tense to see if they’ll improve their cooking enough each week to measure up to the judges’ high standards.”

Across a series of exciting cooking battles, the celebrities will be trained by their mentor chefs to produce delicious dishes that will be judged by the remaining professionals. The bottom two will then have to fight for their place in the competition, creating a dish without any help from their mentor.

The result of this eliminator will be decided by a blind tasting judgement from the professional chefs. Unaware of whose food they are trying, their greatest supporter could swiftly and unwittingly become their worst critic and vote for their protege to leave the competition.
