This Morning's Holly Willoughby 'refuses to watch' Netflix true crime series The Watcher

Holly Willoughby has 'refused to watch' new Netflix smash The Watcher, despite the fact it was a big discussion topic on Monday's This Morning.

Following in the footsteps of the controversial Jeffrey Dahmer drama and dark Mila Kunis film Luckiest Girl Alive, based on its author's own harrowing experiences, The Watcher launched in its entirety on Netflix earlier this month and immediately shot to the top of the most watched list in the UK.

Based on real life events, the seven part series, featuring a cast including Oscar nominee Naomi Watts, sees a couple Dean and Nora Brannock move into a stunning home - 657 Boulevard -with their children. They instantly fall in love with the striking property after going to a viewing, when Nora bumps into old friend Karen, played who just so happens to be the real estate agent for the house.

Desperate to have the house, Dean borrows a huge amount of money but, his desire to have the house, soon turns into regret as his family become the target of threatening letters and bizarre behaviour from their neighbours, forcing Nora and the children to flee to a nearby motel.

For those of you who haven't seen it, ChronicleLive won't reveal how things play out, but one person who won't be tuning into find out is This Morning host Holly. She and co-host Phillip Schofield led a discussion on The Watcher on Monday's show but, after seeing the trailer, Holly declared she wouldn't be watching it.

Reacting to what appeared on screen, Holly said: "I appreciate it looks great, but this one is not for me!" She then added: "What makes this show even more sinister - hooray! - is that it's based on a true story." As Phillip read out one of the letter sent to the family begged him to stop.

Reacting to Holly's comments, one viewer took to Twitter, far from complimentary with their verdict on The Watcher, writing: "Reviewing the Watcher on Netflix. Only thing worth watching is Naomi Watts amazing wardrobe....winter whites. The ending is a nightmare in itself."
