This Morning fans were left enraged after presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes made a sly comment about council houses.
The husband and wife pair were watching chef Angela Hartnett prepare a 'retro' Valentine's dinner when the 'rude' comment was made.
Angela said: "I've got prawn cocktail, steak and chips with a choice of sauces and black forest gateau."
Eamonn then said: "I could go into a restaurant and that's exactly what I would order."
Ruth added: "Or when the gateau used to be on the sweet trolley, have it from the trolley."
Eamonn then angered fans with his reply, saying: "To which my wife goes 'you're so council house'."
A panicked Ruth then quickly snapped back at the comment, saying: "I do not say that!
"You've made that up."
This Morning viewers took to Twitter to slam the presenters for their slur.
One said: "Just insulted all the people that live in council houses."
Another wrote: "'You're so council house' Just gone off Ruth."
A third angry fan said: "Ruth you are so up yourself! Saying "you don't have Prince on Valentines day" And saying "that's so council house" who the hell do you think you are!"
"Hate it when people say 'you're so council house' what the hell do they mean??? Common??? I’m council house and not a low life!" ranted another viewer.
