‘This isn’t LA’s first rodeo’: Woman exposes what’s really going on in LA and it’s nothing like what the media is telling us

The L.A. protests against Donald Trump’s ICE raids seem to be rather dangerous for people living in the city. Footage of violent clashes and chaos all around dominate our feeds. But one woman on TikTok who lives in L.A. claims it’s not like that at all.

TikToker, “Zoomie” (AKA Bridget) shared footage of a peaceful protest taking place in downtown L.A. The positive vibes and kindness on display is in stark contrast to the footage being shown elsewhere. In the clip we can see people handing out water bottles and even snacks. We then see a congregation of people standing around, peacefully waving flags and simply making their voices heard.

LA today has been peaceful, organized, even joyful. Don’t believe what the media is saying, this isn’t LA’s first rodeo. We know how to protest respectfully. We know how to make our voices heard 🫶

Looks like a pretty chill afternoon in L.A.

The video was apparently made in response to Bridget’s grandmother warning her to get out of the city after seeing coverage of the protests on Fox News. But Bridget’s video shows the true nature of a majority of the people involved in the protest, as she puts it, “show me a city that shows up to defend its citizens the way L.A. shows up to defend its citizens.”

At one point we can even see multiple police officers standing around not doing much. As a matter of fact, many of the police officers look downright bored, probably because this is a peaceful protest.

Individuals responded to Bridget’s video expressing concern at the angle the media is taking, “Typical Fox News Fairytales,” wrote one commenter, another added, “Fox News is elder abuse.” Some even implied that it was the police who were inciting the violence and not the protesters. One person wrote, “It’s not violence from citizens…”

Is it the same with all the current protests?

Granted, this is just one person’s experience in a very large city. The images of violence shown by the media are certainly happening, but the fact so many choose to make the violence the focal point when that is not the point of the protests whatsoever is very telling. There’s plenty more footage showing peaceful protests across other cities and it’s being shared on places like TikTok by people who are actually there.

It all makes Trump’s decision to send in the National Guard look rather silly.

Of course, the president and his cronies would rather everyone believe that the protesters are inherently violent people, but footage like this proves the politicians and the media wrong. Trump has seemingly leapt at the chance to use the protests to score a few political points and grab a bit more power for himself.
