This Hybrid Limousine Concept Is Fit For A Bond Villain

the breakdown

  • Italian design firm Aznom designed a concept called.
  • The concept is over 26.0 feet long.
  • It feautres a four-motor powertrain with over 1,000 horsepower.

In the future, VIPs, CEOs, and politicians might be chauffeured around in something called the Aznom L’Epoque. Created by the Monza-based design firm Aznom in collaboration with Camal Studio, the concept previews a (possible) production limousine with a 1930s-inspired design, powered by a hybrid V6 with a total output of more than 1,000 horsepower.

The L’Epoque is a styling exercise that looks like something ripped straight out of the Art Deco era.

Big, Theatrical Presence

The proportions are properly ridiculous. It has an extremely long hood, a set-back cabin, and a rear design that nods to the nautical world. A towering vertical grille dominates the front end, built more like an architectural element than an automotive one, while the vertical LED headlamps, set into the fenders, cast a warm, champagne-colored light.

The result is a sleek limousine that stretches out to nearly 26.0 feet long—longer than a Cadillac Escalade. It also features an unconventional door-opening system. The doors use a dual-motion mechanism, and a section of the roof lifts to make entry easier.

Getting in is accompanied by a lighted “carpet” projected onto the ground, while the 30-inch wheels make the Aznom look even more imposing.

A Retro Cabin

Inside, L’Epoque moves away from the traditional cabin concept and leans toward a lounge. There aren’t "seats" in the conventional sense, but furnishings: a large rear sofa is the centerpiece of the experience, joined by two fold-away jump seats that create a 2+2+2 layout.

The materials are meticulously executed, with hand-worked wood inlays, leather, and textiles inspired by the interiors of historic palaces. The technology is present but understated, managed by an artificial intelligence system that controls microclimate, lighting, sound, and ambience through natural voice commands.

On the engineering side, Aznom calls for a body-on-frame chassis, active suspension, and automatic leveling. The powertrain consists of a V6 used solely as a generator to feed a 100.0-kilowatt-hour battery, supporting four electric motors, one per wheel. In other words, it’s a range-extender setup, with a total of 1,000 hp on tap.

While it remains a concept with theoretical feasibility, the project also envisions the possibility of a one-off build or an extremely limited run, reserved for interested collectors.

Motor1's Take: Aznom created a wild concept car. While the L’Epoque is unlikely to reach production, the concept provides an interesting look at what high-end limousines could look like in the future.
