This Day In Music - 5 September

5 September 1994 - Oasis appeared at The Hacienda in Manchester to celebrate the launch of their debut album Definitely Maybe. The album went straight to number one and was the fastest selling debut of all time in the UK when released. It was voted number 19 in OMM's 100 Greatest British Albums in June 2004.

According to one fan lucky enough to get tickets to the gig, 'It was full of naughty boys and girls and the occasional scrap broke out but it was that sort of night.'
