This CFMoto Has Semi-Active Suspension, and Is Coming for the Middleweight Competition

It doesn't seem to matter what badge your bike wears or what niche it's in, CFMoto is coming for it. This time, the 2026 CFMoto 800MT ES is coming for every upper-middleweight adventure touring bike out there. We already know the outgoing 800MT can hang with the best models in this category, but now, CFMoto is adding something to the mix that very few bikes in this niche have—electronically adjustable suspension.

There's already an 800MT Touring model, which is similarly specked out to the ES, but instead of the regular USD KYB front forks, the ES comes with semi-active forks, developed in partnership with KYB. Just like on the Touring variant, the front suspension provides 160mm of travel, while the rear monoshock is good for 150mm. Unlike the Touring version, the ES model adapts to the road irregularities, load, and riding style in real time.

The idea is that, when the road ahead allows for it, and you feel like twisting the wrist a bit more, the suspension will firm up and provide a sportier ride. But, should you come across some poorly maintained sections of road unexpectedly, the suspension will be more forgiving and provide a smoother ride—similar to the system on the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS.

The 800MT ES also comes with four riding modes, Bosch stability control, and a six-axis IMU. Like the rest of the 800MT variants, the ES is powered by a 799cc liquid-cooled twin, producing 89.9 HP at 9,250rpm along with 49.4 lb-ft of torque at 8,000rpm. The braking system remains the same and makes use of twin 320mm discs that are gripped by J.Juan radial-mounted four-piston calipers, and a Bosch cornering ABS steps in for help when needed.

There's no price at the time of riding for the 800MT ES, but the question I put to you is, if this model is priced like the rest of CFMoto's range—savagely undercutting the competition—would it make it on to your vision board for 2026?
