If you’re a Rhode fan, you vividly remember the agonising four years it took for the brand to launch in Australia. We grappled for just about any dupe Aussie brands could craft in the hopes that they’d fill the Rhode-sized hole in our hearts. Last year, The Breakout Hack’s $30 dupe for the Glazing Milk was heralded as being the Australian-equivalent for the milky toner that had Americans, Canadians and Brits in a chokehold.
Now, the acne-focussed skincare brand has expanded. Since Rhode has joined the Australian beauty market, they’ve gotta keep things fun and fresh, right?
Well, that’s exactly what The Breakout Hack has done. They’ve taken their cult-favourite Rebound Skin Milk Activated Cica Toner ($29.95) and adapted it into a version that can be lathered across the rest of your body. They don’t have the exact same ingredients — The Body Milk ($34.95) contains niacinamide, allantoin and provitamin B5 to soothe and soften the skin, while the face milk has centella, ceramides and panthenol to help restore the akin’s barrier and deeply hydrate. However, both work in tandem to keep your skin feeling moisturised.
The Breakout hack’s Body Milk is suitable for all skin types, but the brand has said it’s especially suited to dry, breakout-prone skin.
It’s part of the brand’s wider expansion into body care (or you could say break-out, teehee). While they already had an acne-fighting body spray, the body range now includes a Breakout Controlling Body Wash ($27.95) and Barrier Supporting Body Lotion ($27.95).
The Body Milk is designed to be used once you’ve stepped out of the shower, before you lather on your moisturiser. Think of it as a bonus step for added hydration, which is great for those of us who dry up and become as scaly as a lizard during winter.

Recently-married influencer and Vogue bride Riley Hemson posted on her socials using The Breakout Hack’s new range, which has us wondering if she used these products in her wedding prep process; her glow was UNREAL. Because if she did, you best believe if running to the brand’s website and stocking up.
