Thirty four more people have died in Greater Manchester's hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus

A further 34 people have died in Greater Manchester's hospitals after testing positive for  coronavirus.

It brings the region's hospital death toll to 5,255.

According to the latest NHS data, a further 13 deaths were recorded at the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in the last 24 hours.

Nine deaths were reported at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Three further deaths were recorded at both the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

The Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust each reported two new coronavirus-related deaths.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Wednesday, February 10, are:

  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 572 (+3)

  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9

  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 1,011 (+9)

  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6

  • Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust - 1,442 (+13)

  • Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - 7

  • Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust - 447 (+2)

  • Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 494 (+3)

  • Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 524 (+2)

  • The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 24

  • Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 718 (+2)

NHS England announced a further 664 deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities in NHS hospitals in England to 77,253.

Each day the NHS in England publishes the number of deaths recorded by each hospital trust in the last 24-hour period.

These are deaths where the person had tested positive for the virus or where COVID-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.

NHS England's daily figures sometimes include previously uncounted deaths that took place several days - or even weeks ago.

They do not include deaths in care homes or community settings.
