Third arrest after attempted robbery in Erindale car park

A third offender has been arrested and charged after an attempted armed robbery in the Erindale Shopping Centre car park where a woman putting things in the back of her car was threatened by two teenagers, one armed with a copper pipe and the other with a knife.

Police alleged this third offender, a 19-year-old Chisholm man, was involved by being the driver of the Suzuki Swift in which the offenders fled the scene of the incident.

Two other people, a 14-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, have already been arrested and charged.

The incident happened just before 9pm on June 21 in the Comrie Street car park, in Wanniassa.

The girl and the man allegedly approached a woman and demanded she hand over money.

There was a brief struggle and the pair fled the scene empty-handed in a blue Suzuki Swift.

Subsequent investigations by police led to the third man being arrested at a home in Chisholm about 4pm on Friday.

ACT police have arrested a third man who drove offenders away from the June 21 attempted robbery.
